We enjoyed our return experience to Roadside America with our grandchildren. Looking for hidden superheroes amongst the beautiful panorama of the exhibit was fun. The light show is always great. Roadside America is a true gem.

About Roadside America

In 1899, when he was five years old, Laurence Gieringer set out on a mission to reach a far-off hotel he could see from his bedroom window, not realizing how far away it really was. The young boy quickly, after spending a night lost in the woods, became fascinated with perception and how it related to size.

Later, as an adult, Laurence became a talented carpenter and painter, specializing in ultra-detailed miniature buildings. After amassing a substantial organized village of tiny houses and buildings, he decided to open his fascinating creation up to the public. And so, Roadside America was born.

Today, the miniature landscape spans over 7,450 square feet and hasn't changed a bit since Laurence's passing in 1963. Beautifully maintained by his granddaughter and her family, the Roadside America display still manages to delight and inspire guests of all ages by visually whisking visitors through 200 years of American history.
