Fantastic instructors and staff! The introductory class was a great time and an amazing workout with emphasis on safety and proper use of the equipment. The instructors were very patient and encouraging. Everyone working there had a great attitude and were a lot of fun to work with. Truly a pleasure and we will likely take lessons in the future. This is a fantastic way to experience fencing if you've ever been curious or wanted to learn.

Fencing was such a fun workout, and they offer your next class free and 50% off the next 5 classes, which was totally unexpected. Ages in my class ranged from 7-40s without any issues. Instructors were students at the club, but previous classes have been taught by the Olympian owners. Fencing is very sweaty, so dress appropriately. I can’t wait to go back!

During an Intro to Fencing class, 13-year-olds to adults take in the basic skills, footwork, blade technique, and rules of the sport. The classes, which hold up to 30 students, are grouped by age and include necessary gear.

About Rochester Fencing Club
Since opening in 1981, Rochester Fencing Club has produced two world-champion fencers and a slew of prodigious Olympian qualifiers, including five members on the 1996 team, four on the 2000 team, and one on the 2008 team. Two of those Olympians, sisters Iris, and Felicia Zimmermann, have returned to the facilities as co-owners and instructors. Iris's fencing aptitude has led her to become the youngest fencer ever to win a World Championship. Felicia's aptitude lead her to be the first and only woman to win the NCAA championship in both foil and épée.
