Welcome to Groupon, Halifax! For our inaugural deal, $10 gets you $20 worth of brewpub fare and drinks at Rockbottom Brewery, located at 5686 Spring Garden Road. Since this is everyone's first Groupon, allow us to briefly explain how it works.
How Groupon Works
Groupon is a combination of the words group and coupon. Each day, we offer an unbeatable deal on the best of Halifax: restaurants, spas, sporting events, theatre, and more. By promising businesses a minimum number of customers, we get discounts you won't find anywhere else. We call it "collective buying power." If you want to get the deal, just click BUY before the offer ends at midnight. If the minimum number of people (15 for today's deal) sign up by the end of the day, you'll be emailed a gift certificate the next morning. You can print your Groupons, or redeem them with our mobile app. Use them whenever you want until the deal expires—today's expires in six months. If not enough people join, no one gets the deal (and you won't be charged), so invite your friends to make sure you get the discount!
While hops and malt make a harmonious combination, hops and scotch is a dangerous mixture that causes blurry vision and a tendency to hop on one foot. Today's Groupon doesn't play games when it comes to quenching a thirst: for $10, you get $20 worth of brewpub fare and drinks at Rockbottom Brewery on Spring Garden Road.
The recently opened Rockbottom Brewery is a small-batch microbrewery serving a varied menu of upscale pub fare washed down with tasty ales and sassy stouts brewed on-site. The menu of delectable dishes includes appetizers ($5.25–$11.95), sandwiches and burgers ($7.95–$10.75), entrees ($10.95–$19.95), pizza ($8.95–$11.50), and desserts ($6) to soak up the suds and fill the belly-bag. The current varieties of handcrafted brews include Red, Nut Brown, Wheat, Ale, Stout, and IPA (draft 12 oz. $4.75, 18 oz. $6.50), and Rockbottom makes the bi-partisan choice by also serving wine and cocktails. Like remnants from last night’s dinner, Rockbottom is located under Your Father's Moustache, a well-patronized bar and grill. A warm interior of exposed wood beams, stone walls, and a fireplace accent the convivial atmosphere, and live music often cruises the crowd to eavesdrop on potential life mates and inspire vigorous toe tapping.
