Choose Between Two Options

 • $89 for a horseback trail ride with a steak dinner and homemade pie for two (a $250 value)
 • $175 for a horseback trail ride with a steak dinner and homemade pie for four (a $500 value)

Take a step back in time at this real-life working ranch. Prior to each trail ride, an experienced guide plots a route that fits the group’s riding ability, selecting smooth trails for beginners or rugged paths for advanced horsemen. Towards the end of the ride, take a break from the trail while you have a meal in a shaded, secluded area by the creek. Cooked and served “cowboy style”, steaks are prepared to your liking and served after riders dismount their stallions. Each hearty meal consists of a 6-ounce steak, Texas-style sides, and fresh pie.

Rocking Lazy K Ranch

At Rocking Lazy K Ranch, scrub grasses and evergreens bristle across 1,800 acres. Within this rustic backdrop, ranch owner Scott leads trail rides and teaches horseback-riding lessons. "I love teaching beginners about horses and watching them as they progress," he says. During lessons, students learn essential skills of horsemanship, from how to dress and mount a horse to how to gallop and parallel park.

On paths that wind along ancient roads and muddy creeks, Scott guides students and visitors on outings to the ranch's scenic corners. Whether on wooded or open land, Scott notes, there's "a good chance of seeing local wildlife." Afterward, Scott swaps his riding gear for a kitchen get-up and steps behind the grill to sear 6-ounce steaks. A hearty meal soon follows, incorporating Texas-style sides and freshly prepared pie.

Customer Reviews

This was such a fabulous experience. One of the best family activities we have ever done. And honestly some of the most kind, well prepared people we have had the privilege of meeting. Scott was so kind and patient with my family. The kids said it was one of the best days ever!
