What You'll Get
Mounted police opt for equine transportation so they don’t have to deal with the squad car's wailing thirst for gas and justice. Avoid similar automotive appetites with today's Groupon: for $40, you get two trail rides at Rocking M Ranch in Garden City (an $80 value).
Accompanied by a herd of gentle horses, Rocking M Ranch’s expert riders lead guided group trail rides along the ranch’s 60 acres of rolling green pastures and historic plantation forests. After each rider is matched with a steed appropriate for their skill level and neighing abilities, trail-bound riders climb atop horses for 45–50 minute treks through the property's various outdoor paths, which are flanked by woodland scenery, open terrain, and rows of pumpkins that fear afterlife consists of seasonal pie filling. Guided group trail rides are available by appointment Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and all weekend from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Rocking M Ranch also features a 14-stall barn, competition and practice arenas, two concrete-slab wash racks, a barbecue cookout shed, and a gallop-in closet bedecked with horseshoes.

About Rocking M Ranch
Crystal and Johnny Mindedahl host riders of all ages and abilities on Rocking M Ranch’s 60 acres of rolling pastures, beyond which lie miles of historical forests and trails. The ranch takes extra care to comfort its horses, and neighs of contentment echo through the 14-stall barn and across the competition-sized arena where students can refine their horsemanship throughout the year. Instructors tailor each lesson to accommodate individual goals, helping beginners gain comfort and advanced students work toward competitions with tutorials in grooming, safety, saddling, and horse anatomy. In addition to lessons, Rocking M Ranch regularly hosts day camps for children and teens. These camps pique kids’ interests with riding lessons, games, and traditional farm activities, such as playing with pet goats and churning butter from an original Nintendo.
