Held on Saturday, September 21, at 8 a.m., the 5K race charts a path along the shores of Lake Ray Hubbard. The race is run as part of the day’s larger schedule of events, including Duck Fest, featuring arts and crafts, food and jewelry vendors, and entertainment, all of which culminate in the Rubber Duck Regatta at 3 p.m., where 5,000 rubber ducks race for charity in The Harbor Rockwall.
Rockwall Rubber Duck Regatta
The Rockwall Rubber Duck Regatta raises funds for the local Rockwall chapters of Boys & Girls Clubs and Meals on Wheels by pitting 5,000 yellow rubber ducks against each other as they race down the fountains at The Harbor Rockwall. Participants adopt one or multiple duckies, each of which is tagged with an identifying number, for the chance to win prizes. The day also includes live entertainment, food, and activities such as the corporate race, where corporate duck owners decorate their rubber fowl with their company’s logos and artwork, as well as a 5K run where winners receive a lifetime supply of lukewarm bathwater.
