Q:

Is the Lumenis LighSheer laser effective on darker skin tones?

Chandra M.  asked on  Aug 21, 2012

A:

The Lumenis LightSheer laser can be used to treat all skin types. However, with darker skin tones, the energy does have to be decreased, so progress is sometimes a little slower, but it is still effective.

Q:

I would like to get the fine, blonde hair on my cheeks removed, would lasr work with that? Also, I have a small spot on the back on my neck, which is dark hair. Would these be considered small or medium areas? Thanks

Kelly O.  asked on  Aug 20, 2012

A:

Unfortunately, lasers do not work well on fine, blonde hair. We do have other treatments for that type of hair, though, but not lasers. It is hard to say what the area on your neck would be, but I would suggest a medium area. If it is truly a small area, we can refund the difference.

Q:

I know everyone is different, but what is an average number of visits required to remove most hair from underarms? Would the 6 visits get me most of the way there?

Lisa M.  asked on  Aug 17, 2012

A:

Most people need 6 treatments to achieve 80 to 90% permanent hair reduction.

Q:

What laser do you use?

Adriana E.  asked on  Aug 17, 2012

A:

We use the High Speed Lumenis LighSheer Duet. It is a state-of-the-art diode laser with vacuum-assist technology to remove unwanted h air with greater speed and comfort than other methods. The diode laser is the gold standard in laser hair removal. Please see the following link for more information: http://www.skinandhealth.com/hair
