What You'll Get
Famed Spanish explorer Ponce de León was forced to forgo his quest for the mythical land of wine after an accidental tumble into the Fountain of Youth left him eternally underage. Take up his abandoned journey with today’s Groupon: for $10, you get a wine tasting and a tour for two at Rodrigues Winery (a $20 value) in Whitbourne.
Anchored in a historic hospital building, Rodrigues Winery handpicks wild berries and fruits to infuse its elixirs with ripe, local flavour and sustain its environmentally sound tradition as Newfoundland's first distillery and vineyard. Senses succumb to the winery's aromatic appellations and sweet, tender whispers at the on-site wine shop, La Cave, where grape gurus escort visitors through a tasting of exclusives such as wild cloudberry, raspberry, and black currant. A certified kosher fermentation maven, Rodrigues Winery indulges organic appetites and picky ship-in-a-bottle enthusiasts with 25,000 cases of sulfite-free fruit wine each year.
To explore wine pairings and the versatility of nature's nectar, guests can indoctrinate their appreciation for the Exotique blends with a tour that ushers them through the vineyard's authentic, rustic corridors and newly renovated distiller. Tours are offered year-round and can entertain between 1 and 50 people or between 1 and 50 robots dressed like people.

About Rodrigues Winery
When Dr. Hilary Rodrigues and his wife Marie-France founded Rodrigues Winery in 1993, it was one of the first in Newfoundland. Working inside a former hospital building they'd renovated themselves, they produced a mere 300 cases of blueberry wine in their first season, filtering, bottling, and corking everything by hand. Today, the picturesque estate offers year-round tours and produces a full lineup of certified kosher wines, of which it distributes roughly 24,000 cases each year. Additionally, production of spirits from the distillery includes varietals that encompass four liqueurs, three vodkas, and two brandies.
