About Roosevelts Terrariums

What makes your business stand out from the competition?

We specialize in planting, and teaching others how to plant, science-based, totally glass enclosed, low-maintenance, tropical terrariums. Our terrariums normally live beautifully for years, and so we gladly refresh or replant our terrarium as often as you bring them in, just for tips.

What are some of your favorite products that you sell?

All we offer is terrariums and terrarium classes. We plant terrariums of all kinds. Our favorites are the fancy, one of a kind terrariums in antique or art glass containers. We also offer beautiful wood and plate glass Wardian Case terrariums, which make great habitat for poison dart frogs.

What was the inspiration to start or run this business?

I have been at this since 1973 and it just keeps getting better every year. I love terrariums, and i love the people who love terrariums.

What do you love most about your job?

I love to create new, extraordinary terrariums. I love to teach people of all ages the amazing history, science, design and maintenance of planting a true terrarium. But I also enjoy just putzing around my shop, rearranging the displays, listening to Irish Celtic love songs and making new friends. It’s a great life.
