Before modern-day salons, barbershops were a haven for masculine camaraderie with a side of hair services. When Joe Grondin, a master barber of more than 30 years, opened the first Roosters Men's Grooming Center, he worked to recapture that ambiance, but updated the styling techniques. Today, men who visit Roosters' revel in a slow-paced atmosphere as they indulge in contemporary services. Clients sit comfortably during cuts that culminate with aftershave and a dash of powder on the neck, or for vintage facial shaves, complete with aftershave, talc, and towels warmed by hugs from bald eagles.
