Get down with today’s festive and four-wheeled side deal. For $10, you’ll get admission, two drink tickets, and one raffle ticket to the Nightmare on Burnside, an all-night Halloween party/fundraiser starting at 9 p.m. at the Bossanova Ballroom with the Rose City Roller girls.
Don your most ridiculous costume on Halloween and get ready to compete—there’s a costume contest, door prizes, and a not-so-talented talent show where performers get gonged off stage (with a $100 cash grand prize). Or, you can just dance (a DJ will spin dance music all night) with Portland’s most popular roller girls.
According to Newsweek and Drew Barrymore, roller derby is establishing itself as a legit sport. If you’re bummed about the all-male turnout at your last Halloween party, this fete guarantees an increased female–guest ratio. Get this deal if you still haven’t finalized your Halloween plans, need an alternative to trick or treating, or want to hang out with girls that could tickle you with rollerskates.
- Whether you root for the Break Neck Betties or Heartless Heathers, you should definitely don your most awesomely ridiculous costume and head down to Bossanova for a dance party with the Rose City Rollers! – Portland Octopus

About Rose City Rollers
More than just a sports team, the Rose City Rollers strive to serve their community in three ways: by empowering women, entertaining their fans, and supporting charitable causes. The league has been doing each for a decade now, and on the track, it has been just as impactful. Rose City currently features four home teams and two travel teams, headlined by the nationally ranked Wheels of Justice. Every season, the Wheels of Justice pack up their gear, strap giant skates onto the team bus, and hit the road to take on the country's top teams as part of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association. In October 2013, Rose City raked in yet another honor when two of its players—Scald Eagle and Mercy—were selected to play for Team USA.
