Rosie's is a fun place with traditional Irish fare as well as California cuisine! Loved the Nutty Irishwoman my daughter and I had before seeing the Irish Christmas in America at the Kuumbwa in November!

What You'll Get

Compared to American bars, Irish pubs typically have more stouts on tap and more neon signs shaped like potatoes on walls. Delight in stouts and starches with today's Groupon: for $15, you get $30 worth of Celtic cuisine and pub pours at Rosie McCann's Irish Pub and Restaurant in Santa Cruz.

Rosie McCann's specializes in twists on traditional Irish fare, tweaking classic Celtic dishes and drinks in a traditional pub setting. The menu showcases crowd-pleasing plates, such as irish nachos, sliced spuds slathered in jack and cheddar cheeses, olives, fresh salsa, guacamole, sour cream, and jalapeños ($10). The Americanized version of shepherd's pie simmers grass-fed Humboldt beef and vegetables in a rich irish stock, before adding a helmet of mashed potatoes au gratin ($14). Heftier appetites seek satisfaction with bangers & mash, a Celtic take on the English classic, that douses irish sausages and garlic mashed potatoes in Guinness gravy ($16).

With the purchase of food, sippers can drown their sudsy fantasies in any of the 10 premium imports or 4 microbrews on tap ($6 per pint). Rosie McCann's malt mixologists also pour specialty beer drinks, such as the Black Velvet, a whistle-whetting blend of Blackthorn hard apple cider and Guinness ($6), or the Raspberry Push-Up, which challenges raspberry vodka, triple sec, and grenadine to support the weight of pineapples, whipped cream, and hearts made heavy by the decreasing popularity of riverdance ($9).

The dining room echoes the colors of the Irish flag, with burnt-red walls and bright-green stained-glass windows. Guests cozy up in plush booth seats bedecked in plaid and gaze at glass chandeliers that hang from the ceiling, entrancing patrons with their rhythmic swaying and hypnotist-shaped light bulbs.
