About Round Lake Area Park District

Established in 1974, the Round Lake Area Park District has been facilitating healthy lifestyles through outdoor activities and family-focused programs for over 40 years. From its early days and first programs, which included a mini-circus and Christmas Eve crafts show, the park district has grown to encompass childcare programs, athletics, and a fishery-management foundation. Its facilities have likewise expanded, and now include:

  • Aquatics Center and Nature Museum for kids to take a swim and learn about nature through exhibits and animals
  • Renwood Golf Course, an 18-hole course and clubhouse that hosts tournaments, lessons, and regular outings
  • Robert W. Rolek Community Center, complete with a gym, dance studio, senior center, and an 11-room child development center
  • Sports Center, a 50,000-square-foot facility with a regulation indoor soccer field, basketball/volleyball court, and climbing wall
