Rumbi Island Grill
In true laid-back island fashion, Rumbi Island Grill sometimes lets guests make dishes however they want. They customize these build-your-own rice bowls using a three-step process: first, guests choose a protein, including luau pork or steak; then, they pick a sauce such as Jamaican jerk or honey-orange; lastly, they pair their picks with noodles or one of three rices. The finished creation is then topped with a helping of sauteed broccoli, carrots, zucchini, and celery arranged in the likeness of the person who ordered it.
Of course, the restaurant houses plenty of specialty entrees as well, all made with gourmet ingredients such as hand-trimmed steak and scratch-made sauces. The voodoo chicken salad is a perennial favorite, a simple but tasty combination of jerk chicken, roma tomatoes, feta, and tortilla strips drizzled a sesame-ginger vinaigrette. Signature flavors of the 50th state also play key roles; the luau pork sandwich arrives topped with a sweet, crunchy scoop of Asian slaw, and the spicy volcano-blackened salmon is sweetened by pineapple salsa and a mango-passion aioli. Patrons enjoy quick, convenient service, a friendly staff, and Reggae background music.
