As hinted by the kitchen-knife tattoos on his arms, Aaron Salita––the youthful chef at the heart of the kitchen at Rumors––works each night to breathe new life into the cuisine of the long-standing city hotspot. Originally founded as a saloon, Rumors is now beefing up its culinary credentials to become an entity that's part late-night club and part chop house. The chef designs the venue's Italian-influenced menu, which features East Coast seafood classics, creole stews, and fresh shellfish tossed with pasta alongside aged cuts of juicy steak. This heightened focus doesn't mean Rumors has lost sight of its origins, though. Servers still sling drinks from the two bars, and late at night, the dining areas and patio transform into a dance floor commanded by live DJs.
