At 8 a.m. on Saturday, March 28, Run for Homeless Children’s participants gather at Mile Square Regional Park for a 5K and 10K run or walk. In addition to the races, which raise funds for Thomas House family shelter, the event includes free refreshments and childcare.

Run for Homeless Children

Run for Homeless Children benefits Thomas House, a nonprofit organization that provides temporary shelter and programming for homeless families with children. Whether participants are walking or running, the race is not competitive. However, that doesn't mean the event isn't challenging. The course includes six bridges and a tunnel, which represent the obstacles facing homeless families on the path to self-sufficiency.
