Run, Santa, Run 5K

During the Run, Santa, Run 5K, the streets of downtown Madison fill with a Christmas-colored horde of athletes; every runner participates in either an elf or a Santa costume. No need to DIY, though—the race team doles out green long-sleeve T-shirts and hats to elves, or for Santas, a red take on the same outfit. At the finish line, prizes go to the fastest Santa and the fastest elf, but everyone shares the real prize—a post-race party, and a free, online gallery of downloadable event pictures. For an added touch of Christmas spirit, the race recommends that runners bring along a Toys for Tots donation, too.
