About Running Hare Vineyard

In 2003, Running Hare Vineyard founder Mike Scarborough planted 100 vines in the soil of a picturesque estate in southern Maryland. The land prospered into a scenic 8-acre vineyard, and today, it hosts weddings, corporate events, and parties, feting guests with crisp whites and full-bodied reds. Tasters sip glasses of aromatic Chambourcin, peppery Malbec, and smooth, balanced pinot grigio as they take in the view: vistas of rolling, vine-covered hills, a Tuscan-style villa, and wine trees festooned with ripening bottles. In addition to producing local craft wines, the operators of Running Hare also brew up delicious Maryland-made beers at their Calvert Brewing Company.
