When Eisenhower designed the interstate highway system, he envisioned a lawless, death-race arena where only the fastest could avoid being killed by mechanical gulls. Experience a thrilling fraction of his racing dream with today's Groupon: for $40, you get five eight-minute races at RushHour Karting in Garner (a $100 value). A helmet and neck brace are included in the Groupon price and a mandatory head sock costs an additional $2. Races may be split between two people. Before arriving, check the calendar for track availability.

At RushHour Karting, speed demons can kart to their spleens' content, regardless of the weather, on a challenging, all indoor track. The one-third-mile course fills up drivers' adrenaline tanks with hairpin curves, winding turns, and high-speed straights. New SODI RX7 karts with 6.5-horsepower engines and improved safety features reach race speeds of up to 40 mph for an adult-sized dose of acceleration exhilaration for drivers 16 and up, and junior karts provide more manageable speeds for drivers 8–15 years old. Today's deal gets each driver onto the track for five eight-minute heats, providing an ample cure for the toe tingles that come with a lead foot.

Bring along friends who prefer their entertainment stationary to try their skills at the game room and gaze upon your racing glory from a perch atop the observation deck. Before settling your longstanding alligators vs. crocodiles argument on the track, check out RushHour's safety precautions and general procedures.

Three Citysearchers give RushHour Karting’s Garner location a five-star average and two Google Mappers give it a 4.5-star average. One Yelper gives it five stars:

RushHour Karting

The European-designed go-karts at RushHour Karting mean business. At no-nonsense speeds of up to 40 mph, they fly around a 1/3-mile indoor track that remains open year round and boasts an observation deck and real pit lines. Overhead, digital projections display racers' track times. Drivers refuel at The Pizza Pit, where cooks whip up gourmet burgers, hot dogs, and salads, serving them amid the glow of seven high-definition plasmas and a 123" high-definition projector.

This is a great adventure for an adult date, family outing, or day out with a group of friends! Don't be fooled into thinking this is the same as your holiday spot go karting places- it's much faster and intense. The restaurant has fresh food, cold beer, and friendly service when you're done.
