Can the dental exam/x-rays be used for a 3 year old child?

In general the answer is YES. However a couple of factors fit in. Number one is patient cooperation. Children (and sometimes Adults!) have difficulty with the digital xray sensor sizes (though we have the smallest one made as well). The second then is the actual child size, some children are larger and more able to tolerate the quick few seconds it take to push a button. Your dentist and hygienist will be the best judge of whether or not the child can get the xrays, or even need them in the first place! Hope this helps Russell H. Masunaga DDS
