Q:

I purchased 2 groupons 1 for my husband and one for his buddy. Will they both be able to use these to drive the car or should i have done it as a gift.

Kelley  asked on  Nov 28, 2012

A:

Hi Kelley, I'm not sure I completely understand, I apologize if the answer makes no sense. If you bought two Groupons, then yes they both will be able to drive. You need a Groupon code for each package and then they are all set. Thanks, Mark @ RWRE

Q:

For the driving experience, how fast will we be able to go? And are these the same cars and engines as what the real NASCAR drivers use?

Vincent B.  asked on  Nov 26, 2012

A:

Hi Vincent, Lucas Oil Raceway is a 5/8ths mile short track. So while the thrills and challenges are there, the top speeds are about 100mph. However, there's a reason that short tracks are always the favorite stops for NASCAR drivers, the sensation of speed and the excitement at a short track are second to none. The cars pictured are the type cars we use in our Ride-Alongs, for the drives we use NASCAR style Late Models and Nationwide cars, they seem to handle far better and are much easier to drive for the average person with limited experience at a challenging short track like Lucas. The engines are 500 hp motors which certainly have more than enough steam under the hood, but they are not the dry sump 900 HP motors used in a Cup car. Again, it would be virtually impossible for the average person to drive one of those cars with that motor. Thanks, Mark @ RWRE

Q:

How do I schedule the date for the driving experience after I purchase it? Thanks!

Mary c.  asked on  Nov 26, 2012

A:

Hi Mary, Simply print the Groupon and follow the directions there. It should be fairly simple, but if you have any problems at all feel free to call us at 855-22-RUSTY. Thanks, Mark @ RWRE

Q:

How strict are you on the size of the waist? My boyfriend is an avid race fan and maybe has a size 58-60 waist (I am totally guessing on this). Would love to purchase this for him but if it will be too much of a hassle, then I won't.

Kelli R.  asked on  Nov 26, 2012

A:

They still have to climb in thru the the window on the ride along, too, correct?

Kelli R.  from  Groupon  replied on  Nov 26, 2012

A:

Hi Kelli, It's not so much that we are strict, it is simply the physical limitations of getting into the car thru the window. If his waist is above 52" it is very difficult to fit in thru the window opening. You can try if you'd like and if he doesn't fit we can offer a refund, or not if you think that would be a hassle. Thanks, Mark @ RWRE

Q:

Can you tell me a little more about the driving experience? I'm thinking of buying one for my son. He loves drag racing, but has never had the money to race. How much protection would be in the car? How much training would he get before he would drive?

Janet M.  asked on  Nov 26, 2012

A:

Hi Janet, We have an hour orientation training session first. He is well protected as this car was purpose built for speed and safety. We also of course provide a helmet, firesuit and all safey equipment needed. Thanks, Mark @ RWRE

Marianne S.  asked on  Nov 25, 2012

Hi Marianne, Yes you can. Thanks, Mark @ RWRE

Q:

When you go to the site to schedule the ride along, it says no dates are available to schedule at Indianapolis? I am going to call and see if I can schedule for one of the August dates. If I'm unable to schedule at all, may I get a refund?

Renee S.  asked on  Nov 25, 2012

A:

HI Renee, There is significant availability at each date and the site is being updated. Thanks, Mark @ RWRE.

Q:

I was looking at the schedule for Lucas Oil Racing in Indianapolis, IN.on Rusty Wallace Racing's website and it looks like the dates are all filled up because you have to call the phone number and it doesn't say "Go Racing" to sign up for a time slot? I am concerned that if I buy this Groupon I will have to be on a wait list to be able to do the ride-a-long? Thanks Mary

Mary  asked on  Nov 25, 2012

A:

Hi Mary, The site has an problem that is being updated. I can guarantee you that currently all dates have significant availability left. Thanks, Mark @ RWRE

Are there cars with hand controls for disabled drivers?

Joseph W.  asked on  Nov 24, 2012

A:

Hi Joseph, Unfortunately there are not, we have looked into it but it is not feasible to make a NASCAR racecar work with hand controls. Thanks, Mark
