At Lindy by the Sea, rug-cutters glean a deeper grasp of foundational moves in the beginner class series, which starts with basic send-outs and closed positions. Before students graduate, they master wraps and the side-by-side Charleston.
Rusty's Rhythm Club hosts weekly dance nights at the Elks Lodge the first Friday of every month at 8:30 p.m., and Wednesday at 8 p.m. during all other weeks. Lindy by the Sea's beginning-class series begin every four weeks at El Segundo Woman's Club and meet weekly.
Rusty's Rhythm Club
Rusty's Rhythm Club's founder, the hyperqualified Rusty Frank, took to dancing at the tender age of 6, and has been light-tripping professionally since her college days. Since then, she has been inducted into the California Swing Dance Hall of Fame and has performed in locations from the Hollywood Bowl to Disneyland and other worldwide locales. Rusty is joined in instruction by her effusive teachers, Ted Stanley and Ron Campbell, who bear multitudinous dancing awards as well as an actual portal to 1920s-1940s America.
They impart the dancing skills of the 1940s at both Rusty's Rhythm Club, a weekly swing dance emporium, and Lindy by the Sea beginning-class series, a dance school for all experience levels. Rusty's Rhythm Club sharpens soles with an all-ages dance fest accompanied by the tunes and Prohibition-era conversational topics of live bands in the air-conditioned Westchester Elks Lodge in Playa del Rey.

“Great time at Rusty's, can't wait to go again!”
“Group lessons, wear comfortable shoes, don't think this is an exercise class as you don't move that much (at least not in the beginner classes). Welcome atmosphere. ”
“So far - their customer service and communications has been superb! ”
