About Richmond County Fair

More than 30 historic buildings cover the grounds of Historic Richmond Town, which preserves and recreates American life dating back to the mid-1600s. During Labor Day weekend, new structures rise up over the town that would have made early pioneers swim back to Europe out of fear. Spinning carnival rides arrive for the Richmond County Fair, which takes over 25 acres of the town in celebration of classic cars, street performers, pony rides, traditional fair competitions, and a petting zoo. Music and other live entertainment takes five different stages, while 100 specialty vendors display crafts and goods. Educators present on various topics, which echoes the fair's larger purpose: to raise funds for Historic Richmond Town's various programs and restoration efforts.
