Stand-up comedy has long been a successful outlet for Jews. As novelist Saul Bellow once said, "Oppressed people tend to be witty." The seventh annual edition of this comedy extravaganza celebrates this truism with an opening-night performance by headliner Mark Matusof, a DC-based standup, whose warm, friendly and funny stage presence has led to appearances on the popular Bob & Tom radio show, as well as gigs across the country and at sea. A former aerospace engineer -- yep, he's an actual rocket scientist -- Matusof also brings the mandolin on stage for a little musical interlude as well. Minneapolis-based comedian Greg Berman is set to kick off the show, and there's a reception with food and drinks before the event in the JCC Lobby.
The show is recommended for those ages 16 and older.
The reception begins one hour before show time.
