Sightseeing via sailboat exposes travelers to windblown hair, beautiful sea views, and GPS systems that give directions entirely in whale moans. Turn right at the cloud of plankton with today's Groupon: for $150, you get a two-hour sunset cruise for up to four people from Sailors Boat Rentals (a $300 value).
Sailors Boat Rentals’ seasoned captains lead their nightly pleasure cruises using the nautical know-how gathered over years of seafaring derring-do in the Gulf of Mexico. Aboard the 38-foot 1976 Pearson 365 sailboat, up to four wayfarers join the skipper for a tool around Pensacola Bay, drinking in the water’s dusky splendor and keeping eyes peeled for all-too-common dolphin sightings. Once aboard, guests soak in the last rays of the day by tanning on the bow, or sit in the shaded rear of the boat watching for wildlife or trying to figure out which buoys are pregnant. In addition to contemplating natural beauty, guests supply their own on-board entertainment, noshing on snacks stored in the boat’s large refrigerator and jamming to tunes pumped out of the boat’s iPod-friendly surround-sound system. If weather permits, the captain won't use the motor at all, treating guests to an idyllic two hours of gazing dreamily at the sunset or flirtatious pelicans.
