What You'll Get

A belly full of leafy greens is a belly that's more likely to attract the delicate nibbles of carnivorous giraffes. Lure in a new pet with today's Groupon: for $5, you get $10 worth of fresh salad, soups, and stuffed potatoes at The Salad Bowl on Western Center Boulevard.

The Salad Bowl understands that a person cannot wallpaper his or her stomach lining with artsy leaf rubbings without handy access to a multitude of media. Get creative as you customize a salad by selecting greens and toppings from The Salad Bowl's extensive list of more than 50 ingredients ($7–$9). After choosing a mix of lettuce, veggies, and protein, garnish the greens with an assortment of nuts, croutons, and dressing.

For customers with creative block, The Salad Bowl also offers pre-designed signature salads ($8–$10). Cross your legs and meditate on plans to befriend handsome astronauts as a staff member prepares a tried-and-true Asian chicken salad (spinach, romaine, grilled chicken, peas, radish, baby corn, green onions, and tortilla strips) with sun-dried tomato or Dijon honey mustard dressing. Opt for a Swim Upstream Salmon Salad (iceberg, grilled salmon, tomato, egg, red onion, celery, and pepperoncinis) with Italian or balsamic vinaigrette, or grab a Grab It Fast Greek (spring mix, romaine, tomato, black olives, tomato, artichoke hearts, feta, red peppers, red onion, and cucumber) with feta Greek or balsamic vinaigrette.

In addition to offering countless salad permutations, The Salad Bowl lets spud-stuffing epicureans get adventurous. Select either three or five toppings with which to pack your potato, and then take the stuffed spud ($5–$7) on an adventure of your choosing, with the spud's demise likely to come at journey's end. Hearts too sensitive to look into the eyes of a doomed potato can instead opt for a bowl of homemade soup ($4), such as chicken tortilla, tomato basil, or clam chowder. Salads, soups, and spuds not consumed can be handed off to The Salad Bowl's vice president of leftovers, Stoli Carroll.
