What You'll Get
Dancing is the best way to get close on a first date, followed by riding in a rollercoaster and insisting that dinner is an appropriate time for a tickle fight. Display feelings freely and fashionably with today's Groupon to Salsa Kings, holding classes in the Graham University Center Atrium on Florida International University’s south campus. Choose between the following options:
- For $10, you get an intro package consisting of three Level 1 salsa-dance lessons (a $20 value).
- For $75, you get an intro package (a $20 value) and one month of unlimited salsa classes (a $149 value; a $169 total value).
Classes begin at 8 p.m., Monday–Friday, and 5 p.m. on Saturday, and dancers should arrive 30 minutes prior to register for their first session.
Salsa Kings' instructors, certified by the World Salsa Federation, set feet on a two-stepping, hip-shaking adventure with a variety of beginner and advanced salsa classes. Experienced shakers lead students in one-on-one salsa lessons within a group setting, teaching toes the basics of leading, following, and signaling which way they're about to turn. Beginners take three lessons to nail down the material in level one, and are encouraged to continue further instruction for free until feet have mastered that level. Aficionados can continue instruction with one month of unlimited classes, pinning down the intricacies of the Cuban-style casino salsa in groups averaging around 25 people. Dancers revel in the individualized attention, while the group dynamic inspires more educational revelry than a high-school-graduation conga line.
