What You'll Get

Dance can express what words cannot, whether it's the triumphant joy in a football player's post-touchdown pirouette or the passionate tango used to notify roommates that the basement is flooding. Transmit tidings with twinkling toes thanks to today’s Groupon: for $20, you get four Latin dance classes (a $60 value) at Salsabor Tropical in West Palm Beach.

Mixing up a zesty salsa with their feet for more than 20 years, Salsabor Tropical's founder Tony Duarte and his staff have helped students gain coordination, blow off stress, and gain confidence through the art of Latin dance. Students of all skill levels—from Slick Legged Lauries to All Big Toe Tonys—can test the swivel setting on their pelvises with bachata, and salsa dance styles. Salsabor Tropical focuses on teaching a salsa "on 2” or New York–style of dance originating from the distinctive tempo that Lady Liberty used in the dance-off with Venus de Milo during World War Statue. After uploading the latest version of salsa into your hips, strut your stuff at Salsabor’s dance social parties, where salseros and salseras can meet over food, drinks, DJ Raul's saucy beats, and enough wiggly foot mingling to make a podiatrist blush.

Unlike black-tie baby presidential fundraisers, Salsabor's dress code is casual and all ages are welcome. Dance shoes or leather-soled shoes are acceptable foot packaging, but sneakers, tennis shoes, sandals, or shoes with rubber soles are prohibited. The most updated class schedule can be found here.

About Step N Dance

Step N Dance founder Tony Duarte began dancing as a child in Nicaragua. Soon after moving to Miami at age 16, he developed an interest in styles ranging from the waltz to the hustle. With the new discovery of so many new steps came a passionate love of one particular style, however, and Duarte soon mastered the art of salsa. Over his career, Duarte’s skills have been seen on PBS, Univision, and every time he crosses the street. Classes at his own studio lean strongly towards salsa and other Latin styles, each enlivened with a smattering of jazz, hip-hop, and Afro-Cuban influences.
