Art and food have been intrinsically connected since the first avant-garde artist crafted a Starry Night interpretation out of egg yolks and blueberry yogurt. Celebrate the cohabitation of craft and cuisine with today's Groupon: for $15, you get two adult tickets to the Salty Dinner Theater (up to a $30 value), with shows performed at various area restaurants. A specially priced dinner menu is available but is not included in the ticket price.
Salty Dinner Theater combines professional players and proficient chefs to create an edible production of theater classics, such as Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet—Choose Thine Own Adventure, held at Madeline's Steak House on March 25 or 26 in South Jordan and at The Old Spaghetti Factory on March 28 in Orem. The witty performance features all the original puns, poetry, and tragedy while offering a more humorous treatment of the star-crossed lovers' love scenes. During the play, rival families will feud, Juliet will declare her love from atop a balcony, and the pair will conspire to simultaneously end their careers as genealogists. Come with a group of your favorite ladies and lads and bond with fellow mock tragedy attendees as you interact with the characters and work together to choose one of the alternate endings for the ill-fated pair.
Shows change seasonally, with The Wonderful Wizard of Oz seeking advice from quasi-human strangers while demonstrating the perils of red footwear this May and June.
