With more than 40 million YouTube views, it's hard to think of a more wide-reaching, modern-day classical performance group than Igudesman and Joo. Their secret: The wildly entertaining duo take a musical genre that's often seen as anything but funny and shake it up with a bunch of craziness where everything goes wrong on purpose. Anything might happen when pianist Joo and violinist Igudesman take the stage, including shenanigans with a vacuum cleaner, boxer shorts, a coffee cream frother and other unexpected delights. Through it all, you'll hear beautifully played music that could range from Mozart to bits from samurai movies, The Simpsons and West Side Story. Rethink a centuries-old art form as Igudesman & Joo look to introduce a whole new generation to classical music at Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco.
