The great Michael Tilson Thomas conducts the San Francisco Symphony and mezzo-soprano Susan Graham in a show-stopping performance at Davies Symphony Hall. Dubbed "America's favorite mezzo" by Gramophone magazine, Grammy Award-winning singer Susan Graham captivates audiences with her expressive voice, unusually tall and graceful stature, and engaging acting ability. Graham was born in New Mexico and raised in Texas before attending the Manhattan School of Music. She went on to win the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions and the Schwabacher Award from San Francisco Opera's Merola Opera Program, as well as a Career Grant from the Richard Tucker Music Foundation and was Musical America's 2004 Vocalist of the Year. In this concert, you'll be treated to Berlioz's La Mort de Cléopâtre, Schubert's Nachtgesang im Walde, Schumann's Symphony No. 4, and Brahms' Variations on a Theme by Haydn.
