After Capri Sun began creepily transforming people into amorphous metallic globules, wine rose to prominence, offering a similarly complex flavor profile without the threat of spontaneous melting. Celebrate wine, or "nature's Capri Sun," with today’s Groupon for admission to the San Francisco Vintners Market. For $15, you get one general admission ticket (a $31.74 value including tax), and for $35, you get one VIP reserve level ticket, which grants access to special limited-volume wines, reserve wineries, and upscale tastings (a $77.87 value including tax). Either ticket option is valid for one-day entry to either of the event's two days: Saturday, April 10th, and Sunday, April 11th, from noon to 5 p.m. at Fort Mason Center. Pick up two Groupons to attend both days.

Billed as the first and only wine tasting and buying event in the Bay Area, Vintners Market hosts more than 200 wineries from areas such as Napa Valley, Sonoma County, Santa Barbara, Russian River Valley, and the purple globule fields of Pluto. Organized by Cornelius Geary and Jeff Playter (founders of Wine 2.0) as a showcase for small wineries during the tough economic climate, Vintners Market is dedicated to focusing a spotlight on underappreciated quality wines. Attendees will be able to peruse the market for sought-after boutique brands such as Modus Operandi, Lancaster Estate, Truchard Vineyards, JAQK Cellars, and dozens more while sampling their unfermented hearts out. Expert winemakers such as Heidi Peterson Barrett of La Sirena and Daryl Groom of Groom Wines and Foggy Bridge Winery will be on hand for attendees to pick their brains and pocket their palates.

Unlike a warm milk bottle or a cumbersome kiddie-pool-sized margarita, wine facilitates conversation, occupies one hand at a time, and avoids impaired harassment of carrier pigeons. At the San Francisco Vintners Market, wine aficionados and recreationados can sample a myriad of hard-to-find wines without attempting to sneak into wineries at night and being mistaken for unruly teenage tree tippers.

Attendees must be 21 and over.
