My favorite Groupon purchase. Take the time to watch the movie-it is worth it! Wonderful items in the exhibit.

We did have problems being admitted as the lady said she could not read our Groupon Bar Codes. But we eventually were admitted.

The main attraction of the elevator and observation deck are out of service for the next few months. No warning posted on line. Bought tickets and drove out there to find out. Major disappointment for my grand kids.

Currently the elevator to the top is not working with an estimate of not being repaired for two months. The elevator and the observation area at the top are the main attractions for the location. They are still changing full price to tour the little museum area. Takes about 15 minutes to tour the museum.

About San Jacinto Museum Of History

Located at the base of the impressive San Jacinto Monument, the San Jacinto Museum of History covers the width and breadth of the Texas story. Its exhibits and features range from artifacts from Spanish colonization to depictions of the battle in memory of which the monument was erected. The collection includes more than 30,000 objects and artworks to peruse for clues as to exactly when the wild pick-up truck began roaming Texas.

They museum really breathes life into history, though, with its Texas Forever!! film exhibit. The 35-minute documentary drama, shown every hour on the hour in the Jesse He. Jones Theatre, condenses the course of history into 3,000 images, including 35 original paintings commissioned exclusively by the museum.
