Q:

Are the kayak trip and paddle "identical" adventures? If rwe have an adult a little "sared" of the canoe idea, is one of the two "easier" than the other?

Eddie R.  asked on  Jul 21, 2012

A:

The river trip is the same for canoes and kayaks, and both boats are about the same for first time paddlers. You are less likely to capsize in a kayak as they are more stable than the canoes. However, the canoes seat 2 people and the kayaks are only one person per. If you contact us prior to completing your registration online we can verify whether canoes and kayaks will be available on the day of your event so you can choose between them.

Q:

Is there an age restriction on this? I have a six year old daughter - can she go?

Denise B.  asked on  Jul 20, 2012

A:

Unfortunately 6 is too young for the kayaking trips as she would not have the strength to paddle the kayak on her own. We do have programs for parents with young children such as the canoe instruction classes. The price per person is the same so you could use the groupon for one of those classes instead of the river trip.

Q:

What is the age requirement for the trip? Could an 11 yr old go on the trip?

Lisa G.  asked on  Jul 20, 2012

A:

The minimum age is generally 9, an 11 year old should be fine as long as you feel they are physically fit enough to paddle the kayak on thier own.
