- $87 for one colon hydrotherapy treatment ($157 value)
Bucking the stereotype that teenagers are impulsive, shortsighted, and strictly carnivorous, at just 13 years old, Arul Goldman made the decision that, from that day forward, she would adhere to a vegetarian diet. This set her on a lifelong exploration of nutrition and its effects on the body, mind, and spirit. After experiencing some of the health benefits of holistic treatments, she also sought a license to counsel clients on their own well-being. Arul went on to become a certified colon hydrotherapist, lymphatic-drainage therapist, and holistic-health and nutritional counselor, before opening SanaVita.
With these concepts and experience in mind, Arul presides over a staff as it administers treatments calibrated to oust toxins, accumulations of which can cause myriad health issues. Ionic footbaths draw compounds out through the pads of the feet, and colon-hydrotherapy sessions flush them from the large intestine before they can leach back into the bloodstream. As support for these treatments, nutritional-counseling programs improve diet and a slate of supplements give one the vigor to help other beach-goers smash open their volleyballs. A mix of Native American and Eastern aesthetics infuse the spa’s décor, with mottled walls giving the rooms the earthy feeling of the inside of a hand-formed pot. Buddha statues foster calm introspection, and the rustling fronds of live plants frame the blue lilies in the treatment room’s stained-glass windows.
