Despite what we learned while playing Candyland, not everyone was double-dipped in sugar upon entering the world. Today’s Groupon offers a remedy to under-sweetening with a sugar scrub for $40 at Sand Dollar Spa & Massage (a $110 value). Named after oceanic currency, Sand Dollar Spa is staffed by highly experienced therapists and aestheticians whose talents can revitalize and delight the un-sugared masses.
The sugar scrub is 45–60 minutes of sweetness that buffs away dry skin and increases circulation. A duo of aromatic oils and sugar exfoliates your back skin before a warm shower removes the mixture and a hydrating lotion is applied. Sand Dollar Spa’s sugar scrubs are preservative-free and made on-site to ensure absolute quality. Various scents are available as well, making it possible to smell like some percentage of cacao, coffee, lavender, or more. For the more adventurous, follow up your treatment by heading into the woods and allowing woodland creatures to feed off your skin.
Looking your best brings you prosperity, joy, and legions of screaming teenage superfans. Get your Groupon to a sugary bath of beautification.

SPA: Secret Protection Agency
The popularity of spas reached new heights in the late 1980s, thanks in no small part to the Saturday morning cartoon hit SPA: Secret Protection Agency. The animated program followed the exploits of a team of spa-themed commandos who promoted beauty and comfort, while battling an international league of weather-controlling cyberphantoms. Here are a few character bios to jog your memory:
Major Massage: The leader of the rag-tag unit barks out his orders in a calm, soothing tone. Armed with an array of warm, fragrant oils, this is one commando who’s always “good with his hands.”
HotStone: Demolitions. This pokerfaced powerhouse is an expert at all things geology, using his wrist-mounted Ignite-hillator (sold separately) to heat up rocks to the point of spectacular combustion. “Rock” on!
Manny & Peddy: A helping hand and some fancy footwork from these twin cut-ups can get you out of a tight jam…if their terrible jokes don’t kill you first!
Facial: The mistress of disguise! With Facial’s Second Skin Quick Kit she can be anyone, anywhere, and so can you! (Second Skin Quick Kit not available in stores, children under 39 should not use Second Skin Quick Kit, SPA products are for entertainment purposes only and should not be consumed, handled, looked at or considered.)

About Sand Dollar Spa And Massage
When licensed massage therapist Karen Garry first opened Sand Dollar Spa & Massage, it only made sense that her husband, Matt, join the team. After all, she’s not the only massage therapist in the family. With his expertise in sports therapy and her skill at creating relaxing spa treatments, the duo managed to transform a humble practice into a booming success, even garnering a nomination from King 5 as one of the best massages in western Washington.
Though the staff aim to create an environment of healing and ease, choosing which treatment to enjoy can be rather difficult. They offer nine massage modalities, including Swedish, volcanic stone, and a four-handed treatment, during which two massage therapists work on a single client. Spa treatments, such as sugar or sea-salt scrubs and seaweed body wraps, rejuvenate bodies from the inside out with skin-softening formulas. Across the spa, in-office teeth-whitening sessions can enhance smiles by up to eight shades in 20 minutes, or 1/200,000 of the shelf life of a Twinkie. Committed to supporting their community, Karen and Matt donate both their time and gift certificates to local organizations, such as Evergreen Primary School, University Place Volunteer Center, and Charles Wright Academy.
