About Sandhill Crane Vineyards
It takes the effort of an entire family to make Sandhill Crane Vineyards great. At this small, family-owned vineyard, this means family members do everything from describing the array of award-winning wines in the tasting room to hand-pruning vines out in the fields. One family member, Heather, heads up the kitchen and cafe, serving up soups and paninis made from local ingredients at the on-site cafe. Another member of the family, Holly Balansag, produces a wide range of wines in lovingly small batches, using only Michigan-grown fruits. Her tasting list a wide array of 20–30 whites, reds, and sweet dessert wines, sometimes even creating wines out of estate-grown apples and berries.
