$39 for a Culinary Walking Tour (Up to $79 Value)

The walking tour traces the cultural and architectural history—as well as the culinary offerings—of downtown Santa Cruz or Capitola, a seaside village. During the tours, walkers meander 1.8 miles through historic districts of Santa Cruz or 2.3 miles of pristine rolling hills in Capitola, making stops at local establishments that offer organic ice cream, sustainable sushi, or vegetarian Sri Lankan dishes. Tour groups include 2–14 people and depart downtown Santa Cruz on Sundays and Capitola on Thursdays. Click here for a comparison of the two tours.

Though this merchant sometimes offers a discounted price online, this Groupon is still the best deal available.

Santa Cruz Food Tour

Local guides call upon their passions for both history and culinary scenes to share their wisdom during their afternoon walking tours. The Santa Cruz food tour eschews the more touristy spots along the boardwalk and wharf. Between tastings, the guides walk through the most historic neighborhoods in town. They also happily arrange tours that accommodate vegetarian diets.

This was an awesome tour. Brian was extremely knowledgeable. I found myself looking at some of the homes around town and trying to identify their style. This is a great way for locals and visitors to get to know Santa Cruz. The food choices were great. He was correct, no dinner after the tasting.

Everything was well conceived, well presented, and worth the money. Later, we went back and bought products from two of the stops . . . so far - - more to come.
