About Photo Santagto

With 40 years of experience, Valerie Santagto’s camera lens has focused on everything from Kevin Costner’s famous baby blues to the starkly beautiful mesas of New Mexico during a decades-long career that has involved clicking her shutter for the likes of Vogue, Vanity Fair, and the New Mexico Tourism Department. Her love of Hopi culture drew Santagto to the southwest after she spent years capturing images for high-profile clients in New York and Europe, where photographers are legally required to wear berets. She has also taught at the Sante Fe Photographic Workshops. Now, Santagto composes headshots, documents weddings, and shares her philosophy that photography is a love affair with life through workshops that introduce pupils to the art of taking stunning images.
