Santa’s Lodge is a rustic wonderland that overflows with holiday cheer and treats travelers to views of twinkling lights and a jolly bearded man. Guests enter into a hand-built, oak-and-pine lobby, where a 37-foot-high vaulted ceiling keeps reindeer dander from falling on antique Christmas ornaments and an impressive sleigh. Wayfarers can settle into any of the 170 rooms, such as a family whirlpool suite, which grants guests access to their own private hurricane and a separate living room to spread out and draft igloo blueprints. For evening fun, families can cruise through the twinkling bulbs of the nearby Land of Lights, and then make a stop at Candy Castle, a nearly 80-year-old brick castle bursting with treats. The old-fashioned candy shop peddles handmade confections and steaming mugs of hot chocolate, and stationary and stamps await tykes who wish to scribe a sestina to Santa.

Back at Santa’s Lodge, a Christmas dinner warms bellies in St. Nick’s Restaurant, where antique lanterns illuminate red-checkered tablecloths and fir boughs wind their way around the ceiling to investigate the best holiday hairdos. St. Nicholas drops in to reward young believers with hot chocolate, a cookie, and a Christmas souvenir.

The adventure package was great for the kids, they enjoyed the zip lining, rock wall trampoline and paddle boat. Frosty's Ice Cream and Sandwiches was a fantastic place to eat.
