What You'll Get
People eat three times a day to prevent mouthy mouths from brashly blurting out their distaste for the rest of the digestive system. Today's Groupon prevents inner-system quarreling by subduing chatty cheeks with tasty eats: for $20, you get $40 worth of globally inspired fare at Santé Restaurant.
The friendly staff at Santé serves up an eclectic menu of worldly comestibles in a chic and artful Rideau Street space. Start with an order of Santé mussels and savour the succulent bivalves' flavour, enhanced with a wine, mint, basil, tomato, and lemongrass steam ($14), or opt for an order of the spicy crab calaloo soup, a West Indian–inspired union of okra, spinach, coconut, and crab ($8). Santé's midday main courses ($15–$21) offer a tasty preview of the eatery's dinner fare, which features such varied meals as a pork tenderloin with ginger-sake sauce ($28), a savoury rack of lamb seasoned with thyme and port ($32), and pad Thai loaded with various proteins for weightlifters, growing teenagers, and hungry pet tofu blocks ($23). Give any meal a slippery trip down your esophagus with wines from around the world, as well as cocktails and beer from an abundant drink menu.
The rotating art displayed on the walls of the sophisticated Santé is as thoughtful as the food. From its prime location, the elegant eatery boasts stunning views of the adjacent historic streetscapes and imaginary views of futuristic flying cars. Enjoy a jaunt through downtown Ottawa and a meal to match your stately surroundings with today's Groupon.

About Santé Restaurant
Inside Santé Restaurant, the piquant scents of globally inspired cuisine mingle amid the work of local artists, whose pieces fill the dining room's walls. Chef Daniel Guerra demonstrates his own artistic skills, plating beautiful dishes that use a palette of organic produce and locally-sourced meats. He has experience working in several Michelin-star restaurants in Italy, and takes his inspiration from chef Massimo Bottura at Italy’s renowned Osteria Francescana Restaurant, which has three Michelin stars. Chef Daniel's modern and fresh cuisine and delicately balanced six-course feasts reflect a new generation of Italian chefs. To accompany chef Daniel’s fragrantly seasoned dishes, Santé stocks its subterranean vault with a selection of Canadian and international wines, carefully selected by sommelier Rob Neillis. The intimate space, inventive cuisine, and curated wine list earned the eatery Diners' Choice awards from OpenTable for Best Ambiance, Romantic, and Fit for Foodies. On Wednesdays after 8 p.m., they offer live jazz music, and Fridays are "Vinyl Fridays," which feature a local DJ playing classic hits off vinyl records. Customers can bring in their own vinyl to be played as well.
