$54.95 for an Eastside Culinary Tour for Two ($109.90 Value)

The new Famous & Secret Eastside Food Tour explores a part of Savannah that’s less frequently plumbed by tourists. The first stop may well be the most famous: The Pirates’ House, a seafood shack open since 1753. The tour will proceed through five more spots, racking up enough small bites for a very hearty lunch. From an 18th-century bed-and-breakfast to a back-alley barbecue to a take on Asian street food, guests will get to sample dishes in the vein of shrimp skewers, pit-smoked pork, and gourmet pralines. Vegetarian options are available at most locations.

Savannah Taste Experience

Stu and Donald Card didn’t always have time to meander down low-country roads, stopping to snack on barbecue and pralines and chat with the local bullfrogs. One brother was a partner at a national law firm, the other a media coordinate for a major news outlet covering Super Bowls and Olympics. But they found that something was missing from their fast-paced careers—something delicious. Deciding to make culinary pleasure their business, they founded tour company Savannah Taste Experience on a tripod of family, food, and friends. Their flagship tour showcases Savannah’s unique contributions to the culinary world—such as shrimp and grits, shellfish chowder, pork belly sliders, and the gourmet honeys of the Savannah Bee Company—through the town’s historic squares, while other routes travel off the beaten path to favorite local hangouts. Whichever route one chooses to redeem their gift certificate for, it will be for an award-winning, highly-rated, deliciously fun food tour.

Customer Reviews

Our tour guide, Irene, was great! Funny and knowledgeable. The tour was nicely paced and we finished nicely full but not over-stuffed. I would recommend the tour to anyone who wanted to try some new restaurants without having to invest in a full meal at each.
