Q:

My friends and I are looking for a package we can all use at the same time. Can 4 people make an appointment at one time or do you only take 1 appointment at a time?

Huyen T.  asked on  Dec 4, 2012

A:

I have only two treatment rooms so can only treat two clients at a time. Also, I am the only esthetician/licensed massage therapist, so am the only practitioner who can give facials as well as massages. Sometimes we have two people who come together and receive massages at the same time, or one has a facial with me while the other has a massage, then we switch out. Hope this answers your question. Thanks for considering Saving Face Skin Care and Massage

Q:

What is a hot stone facial and for those who have sensitive skin/roscea will or can the facial cause excessive redness or even slighty burn the face?

Rebecca F.  asked on  Dec 3, 2012

A:

Forgive me if this is redundant; I believe I just answered this question, but it may have been for another client. During our hot stone facials, I use the stones to massage the neck and shoulders and and also the face. If a client tends to redness on the face, she/he may not want to have the stones used during the facial massage as excessive heat is not recommended in these cases. We do, however, always test the stones to the client's tolerance so there is no burning. If a client wants to buy this hot stone facial deal, she/he can elect to have the stones used to massage the neck and shoulders and pass on the face, as that may be a better choice in this case.

Q:

Rebecca F.  asked on  Dec 3, 2012

A:

During our hot stone facial, I use hot stones to massage the neck and shoulders; also to massage the face. We always test the stones to satisfy the client's heat tolerance, so burning the client would hot happen under these circumstances. As to rosacea, it is not advised to use excessive heat on skin that tends to redness, so in this case, I would advise the client to NOT have the hot stones on her face. Just a little information about the stones. When massaging with them, the stones move constantly, just as the hands move. Even when a stone is hot, it is moving around the muscles, so is unlikely to cause discomfort. As mentioned before, we test the tolerance of the client so that the stones are comfortable.
