Q:

I have several mini vhs tapes that are 30 min or less to convert to DVD. Will each one be charged $19,95 or several up to 2 hrs on DVD?

Charles F.  asked on  Nov 24, 2012

A:

Charles - Each tape is charged at a rate of $19.95 assuming it is less than 2 hours in length. We will not combine tapes as part of our process. I hope this helps clarify our process. Thanks for your interest in our offer and please let us know if you have other questions. Happy Holidays!

Q:

Hi, I have 2 questions. First, if I'd like to convert both VHS and 8mm, is that option possible through Groupon? Second, if I were to order, do I select the kind of shipping I'll use to send in my VHS and 8mm tapes? Which option is possible through Groupon? Thank you in advance for your clarifications.

Kate V.  asked on  Nov 20, 2012

A:

Hello Kate. First off, this Groupon covers $100 or $300 worth of services, but the total cost of your order would depend on the type and quantity of your source material. With $100 worth of services, you can digitize roughly 200 photos, 175 negatives, 150 slides, six 3-inch 8mm film reels, or five videocassettes. Please see the Pricing Calculator on this page under the "Redeem Now" button for a cost estimate. If your order exceeds the value of your Groupon, you will have to pay the difference.

Secondly, ScanDigital's fully integrated and centralized process ensures that your photos and videos will be safe throughout the entire process, including shipping. Through their website you can automatically generate a shipping label with UPS which will allow them to track your package. If you live within the Los Angeles area, you can drop your photos off at their location in Torrance. For more information please see their Contact Us Page. While being scanned, your photos stay in their centralized headquarters and are returned to you via the shipping option you choose with an easy to use tracking number.

Happy P.  asked on  Nov 20, 2012

Q:

Re this deal, can the digital images on DVD be edited -- if I have editing software?

Robin P.  asked on  Nov 20, 2012

A:

Howdy Robin! For customers wishing to edit their movies post conversion, the hard drive option is recommended. However, this option is not covered by this Groupon deal.

Jake S.  from  Groupon  replied on  Nov 20, 2012

A:

Hi Robin! That would depend on the type of materials that you send in. For video and film transfers, you would need to select the hard drive option with the expert transfer. For photography orders, we transfer the images into standard jpeg files that you will be able to copy from the disc onto your computer for editing. Please feel free to contact us at support@scandigital with any more questions!

Q:

Do the photos have to be a certain size? All the same size? Can they be very old?

Barbara H.  asked on  Nov 20, 2012

A:

Hi Barbara! For printed photos, their process can handle all formats, which include color photos, Polaroids, or black & white pictures. Do not worry about the dimensions of your photos because they can scan prints that were done in a variety of sizes. Any picture that is 8" x10" or smaller will be charged the same per photo price for scanning. If you have a photo that is larger than 8" x10", they are able to convert it to digital for an additional cost.

Jake S.  from  Groupon  replied on  Nov 20, 2012

A:

Hi Barbara! We can scan photos of any size from any era. We scan loose printed photos that measure 8'' x 10'' and below for $.48 at 300 dpi or for $.68 per photo at 600 dpi. Photos large than 8'' x 10'' up to 12'' x 17'' for $1.88 at 300 dpi or for $2.88 at 600 dpi. Please feel free to contact us at support@scandigital.com.
