Questions and Answers 10 questions

Q:

If I send two or three types of formats (ie., photos and VHS tapes and Camcorder video cassettes) are they all transferred to one DVD or can I specify what should be on a specific DVD?

Julie T.  asked on  Apr 29, 2013

A:

Hey Julie. Thank you for reaching out to us. We do not combine differing formats onto the same disc. Any image scanning we do for you (photos, slides or negatives) will be placed on a separate disc from your home movies. For VHS & camcorder tapes, each tape will be digitized to its own DVD so there will never be a mix up with you files. If you have questions about pricing or perhaps need assistance getting an order started, please do not hesitate to contact us at 888-333-2808 or by email at support@scandigital.com. Thank You!

Q:

I have several tapes I would like converted. Not every tape is has the full two hours of video, some maybe only one hour or so. Is it still 12 tapes for $250? or can it be more if they are not full?? Paul C.

Susan C.  asked on  Apr 29, 2013

A:

Hey Paul. Thanks for contacting us. The 19.95 charge for converting your tapes to DVD is per tape. Each tape will receive its own processing, transfer and DVD creation. A $250 Groupon voucher will cover a maximum of 12 tapes tapes. If you have questions about pricing or perhaps need assistance getting your order placed, please do not hesitate to contact us at 888-333-2808 or by email at support@scandigital.com. Thank You!

Q:

How many tapes should I send for the $250.00 value? I also have reel to reel but don't know how to measure how many of those to send if I choose to do the reel to reel?

Tami  asked on  Apr 29, 2013

A:

Hi Tami. Each tape (of 2 hours or less) costs 19.95 to convert to DVD. Tapes that run over 2 hours will be charged 19.95 per 2 hours or fraction thereof above the original 2 hour mark. If all of your tapes are 2 hours or less and in NTSC format (if VHS) then each tape will be 19.95 to convert so for a $250 Groupon, you could cover 12 tapes. For film transfers, we charge $0.28/foot to convert to DVD. Our pricing page has a handy little guide that tells you how many feet are on a certain size of film reel http://www.scandigital.com/film-and-video-pricing.php. If you have questions about how to get your Groupon applied to the order or about our film transfer services, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at 888-333-2808 or by email at support@scandigital.com. Thank You!

Q:

I'm in the US now but will be returning to Canada in the next few months. If I purchase this now, can I sent films & videos from Canada?

Barry G.  asked on  Apr 27, 2013

A:

Hi Barry! Yes, you'll need to place your order online using your Groupon before it expires, and then ship in your materials whenever you're ready. However, I believe the Groupon expiration date is 6 months after purchase, so you have plenty of time. Hope this helps. Please feel free to contact us with any further questions you may have.

What can I have converted for the $250/worth deal? How many of each form?

Melody S.  asked on  Apr 27, 2013

A:

Hi Melody! Thank you very much for your inquiry. We transfer too many formats and at different resolutions to break down all combinations possible. However, our most common formats are photo, video and film. You can do 520 photos at normal resolution, 12 - 2 hour tapes, or about 900 feet of film to DVD for the $250 value.
