Q:

I AM FROM IRELAND NOW LIVING IN FLORIDA. I HAVE 16 TAPES ON THE PAL FORMAT. MOST OF THE TAPES HAVE ONLY APPROX 25% TO 50% RECORDED. THEY ALL CONTAIN OLD VACATIONS , KIDS BIRTHDAYS ETC. IN WHAT WAY WOULD YOU CONVERT THEM TO DVD AND WHAT WOULD BE THE COST, PADDY

paddy c.  asked on  May 3, 2013

A:

Hi Paddy. We can definitely assist you in digitizing your old PAL format tapes to DVD. The process captures the video as it plays from the tape, digitizes it, and converts it to a digital format. The digital files are then used to create you a playable DVD. The charge for conversion of PAL tapes to DVD is 29.95 per tape of 2 hours or less. If you have any questions about pricing or our service please do not hesitate to contact us at 888-333-2808 or email us at support@scandigital.com. Thank You! - Jason

Q:

I have 104 negitives I inherited from my Grandmother that were taken from an old Brownie camera. They are the square ones. Do I understand correctly, that if I purchased the $100 package for $29, that would cover it?

Jo G.  asked on  May 1, 2013

A:

Hey Jo. Thank you for contacting us. Those old Brownie cameras used a couple of different film formats. From what you are describing, it sounds like her particular model used 120 film. The cost to digitize 120 negatives is $1.58 per frame which would come out to approximately 164.32; 64.32 over the $29 Groupon. We do have a $75 Groupon that would completely cover the digitization of your negatives if you're interested. If you have questions about pricing or about using a Groupon for our service, please do not hesitate to contact me at 888-333-2808 or by email at support@scandigital.com. Thank You! - Jason

Q:

How do I determine if my VHS tapes are NTSC format? And if they are not, can you still convert, and at what price?

Wyn E.  asked on  Apr 30, 2013

A:

Hi Wyn. Thank you for contacting us. It is a bit difficult to tell the difference between PAL format tapes and NTSC. Some tape manufacturers did label their tapes to make it easier for the consumer, however most did not. The only way to tell in that instance is to play it in a VCR. We are able to convert both NTSC and PAL tapes. NTSC tapes are converted at 19.95 per tape (up to 2 hours). PAL tapes are converted at 29.95 per tape (up to 2 hours). If you have questions about other media that we transfer, please do not hesitate to contact us at 888-333-2808 or by email at support@scandigital.com. Thank You! - Jason

Hello, I have 14 VHS tapes (not all full) of when my daughter was little ... very precious to me....will one $75.00 package cover these 14 tapes?

Hi Catherine. The $75 package will cover 12 VHS tapes if they are in NTSC format and 2 hours or less. The remaining balance to be paid can be easily covered by a credit card. Once your material arrives at our facility each tape is barcoded and linked to the others so they won't be separated or lost when we are working on them.
