Q:

I now have several old photo albums with photos under sticky, fairly clear plastic. Some of the plastic cover sheets do not easily come up and I am concerned that forcing the issue could ruin the pictures but scanning them thru the plastic does not seem like a good solution to me either. How would you handle these pictures? Thank you.

Joseph P.  asked on  Jun 26, 2013

A:

Hey Joseph. Our trained technicians are very skilled at peeling back sticky plastic film to get at the pictures beneath. If we feel that doing so will damage the photos, then we will attempt to scan the photos as an entire page through the plastic film. If the quality of the scans is affected by the plastic, then we will return the albums to you without a charge for scanning. Dealing with old albums is tough especially when the adhesive holding the photos or plastic covering has degraded or has become overly sticky with time. We will do our best to create quality scans should you decide to send them our way. Please feel free to reach out to us at 888-333-2808 or email support@scandigital.com if you have further questions about the issue. Thank You!

Q:

Can the $250 be used toward the payment of the memory box?

bf  asked on  Jun 24, 2013

A:

Hey BF. Thank you for contacting us. I apologize for the inconvenience, however Groupon vouchers are not applicable towards the purchase of memory boxes as they already represent a very large discount of our normal pricing. Groupon vouchers may be applied to any of ScanDigital's normally priced services like the digitization of photographs, slides, negatives, video tapes or reels of film. If there is anything else we can assist with, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at 888-333-2808 or email support@scandigital.com. Thank You!

Q:

Can I convert mini-DV tapes to a DVD? How many mini-tapes could be covered by the group on? I assume everything gets returned to me at the end? Is there a way to check to make sure they arrived safely before receiving the DVD's?

Beth B.  asked on  Jun 24, 2013

A:

Hi Beth, Thank you for your interest in our services. Yes, we can transfer MiniDV tapes to DVD; we charge $19.95 to transfer a tape that is 2 hours or less. If you purchase the $100 option, you can transfer 5 tapes. If you purchase the $250 option, you can transfer just over 12 tapes. When your order is complete, your original will be returned along with your digital copies. Can you please clarify your last question? Are you asking about when your materials are delivered to our facility? If you select one of the UPS options we offer, it will include a UPS tracking # to ensure your package is delivered safely to our facility. Our $10 flat rate UPS Ground option is very popular. If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact us directly by email (support@scandigital.com) or by phone (888-333-2808).
