Q:

With $100 worth of services, you can digitize roughly 200 photos, 175 negatives, 150 slides, six 3-inch 8mm film reels, or five videocassettes; mix any of the memory media of ScanDigital services - my question is: Based upon above outline of items/quantities what do you get if you purchase the $250 Groupon offer?

A:

Hey Ken. It's best to think of these vouchers like coupons for $100 or $250 off services from ScanDigital. The list given with the $100 Groupon provides examples of what could be covered if you purchased $100 worth of service from us. The $250 Groupon will completely cover 2.5 times more than the $100 Groupon. For example, a $100 Groupon will cover digitization of 208 photographs at 300dpi. A $250 Groupon will cover 520 photographs at 300dpi. You do not need to worry about staying within the Groupon coverage. Any material sent that is not covered by the Groupon voucher can easily be charged to a credit card. Please do not hesitate to contact us at 888-333-2808 or email us at support@scandigital.com if you have questions. Thank You!

Q:

Why do you even offer an "ask a question" session when you do not respond in a timely manner, I'm simply amazed at your antiquated website functionality and operation this day and age.......please provide more $$$ for the IT budget for upgrades the next go around.

Hey Ken. I apologize for the delay. The Groupon forum is a message board rather than a live chat application. If you have questions that need immediate answers, you are always able to contact our support staff by phone at 888-333-2808 or log on to www.scandigital.com and request a live chat session. We are in the office from 8am - 6pm Monday - Friday and on Saturday from 10am - 5pm PST. Again, I apologize about the delay and frustration.

Q:

How many photos are included in the $250 package? What about size of photo? Does 8x10 count the same as 5x7 as 3x5? How about black and white, are they acceptable? Can you split the number of photos, say you send in 300 photos, and you want a group of 100specific photos out of the 300 placed on one disc the rest on another disc is that acceptable, any up charge for any of the above discussed items?? How long typically would it take to scan and return 300 photos?

ken  asked on  Jun 19, 2013

A:

Hey Ken. We digitize photos at $0.48/image at 300dpi and $0.68/image at 600dpi for photographs 8x10 or smaller regardless of whether they are in color or black & white. Photos between 8x10 - 12x17 cost $1.88/image at 300dpi and $2.88/image at 600dpi. The number of photos covered by the $250 package will vary based on size of photo and the resolution of the digitized file. To give you an example, he $250 Groupon will cover 520 photographs (300dpi & 8x10 or smaller) OR 367 photographs (600dpi & 8x10 or smaller). We can definitely split the images between two different discs. The charge would be $10 for the creation of a separate disc and we would need to know which pictures would belong on each disc. Our current turn around time for photos is about 4 1/2 weeks. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us at 888-333-2808 or email us at support@scandigital.com. Thank You!

Q:

What does the $250 value get you in terms of 3" or 7" reel to reel conversion to DVD?

Heide R.  asked on  Jun 18, 2013

A:

Hey Heide. We digitize film at $0.28/foot, so in total, the $250 Groupon will completely cover the transfer of 892 feet of film to DVD (not including shipping). 3" reels contain 50ft of film and 7" reels contain 400ft of film. The number of reels will vary based on what you send. It's easier to think of the voucher as a coupon for $250 off the total price of digitization. We transfer your film to DVD and calculate an exact cost. Before charging your credit card, we would first apply the the Groupon voucher removing $250 from the overall total. The rest would be charged to your credit card. Please feel free to reach out to us at 888-333-2808 or email us at support@scandigital.com if you have any questions. Thank You!
