Q:

Approximately how many photos could I expect to be able to transfer with the $250 option? How long does the process take once you receive the photos? Thanks!

Sherrill C.  asked on  Jun 19, 2013

A:

Hey Sherrill. You will be able to cover up to 520 photos at 300dpi resolution and 367 photos at 600dpi resolution (8x10 or smaller) for your $250 Groupon voucher. Please do not worry about going through your albums or boxes to choose only a select few. You are able to send as many photographs as you want. We will apply the Groupon first and anything remaining can easily be charged to a credit card. Please feel free to contact us at 888-333-2808 or email support@scandigital.com if you have questions. Thank You!

Q:

I have about twelve or so reel to reel film that are on, what I believe are 3 inch reel and 2 that are on 8 inch reel. Is that the same as 8 mm? Brenda

Brenda A.  asked on  Jun 18, 2013

A:

Hi Brenda, Thank you for your interest in our film transfer services. There are a few different film types that we are able to transfer, including 8mm, super 8 and 16mm film. We have images of the different film types here: http://www.scandigital.com/film-transfer.phphttp://www.scandigital.com/film-transfer.php to see if your film looks like one of those. 3 inch reels usually hold 50 feet of film while larger reels can hold more. The more common larger sized reel is 7 inches, which can hold 400 feet of film. If your reel is 8 inches, it could hold up to 600 feet of film. If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact us directly by email (support@scandigital.com) or by phone (888.333.2808).

Q:

Can you give me an estimate with this deal for transferring about 50 Super 8MM 3" reels to DVD? Thanks...

Odell R.  asked on  Jun 17, 2013

A:

Hey Odell Thank you for reaching out to us. We digitize film to DVD at $0.28 per foot. Each 3" reel contains 50 feet of film and would give you a total of $700 if transferred to DVD. The Groupon deal your are considering for purchase will give you $250 off of that price, leaving an estimated total to be paid of $450 above the purchase price of the Groupon voucher. Actual footage per reel will vary and the estimate I gave you was based off of each 3" reel being full. Please do not hesitate to contact us at 888-333-2808 or email us at support@scandigital.com if you have any questions. Thank You!

Q:

What would be the process and cost if I did approx. 200 photos, but wanted to have 3 copies of the same digital copy? In what form would the digital copy be in? Thank you!

Paula G.  asked on  Jun 17, 2013

A:

Paula - First, we would scan all 200 photos to create digital files in JPEG format. From there we edit the images (rotate them properly, color correct...etc.). Then we do a final quality review of all of the images. After that, we would create a data disc in DVD format with your 200 images and we could very easily make 2 additional copies of that disc for you so you'd have three total. We can also put the digital files on a USB thumb drive if you would prefer that. The first DVD is included in the price of the scanning and the 2 additional copies would be $10 each (which can be covered with your groupon). If you'd like 3 USB thumb drives instead, those are $34.95 and CANNOT be covered with your groupon. If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact us here on the the discussion boards, directly by email (support@scandigital.com) or by phone (888.333.2808) Monday-Friday 8-6 and Saturday 10-5 Pacific time.
