Hi Elaine, Thank you for your interest in our services. We have a shipping kit option for only $10 on our order form. If you select this, we will send you a box with shipping materials for you to safely send your VHS tapes to us. If you select this option, you will also pay $10 for a trackable UPS ground label which will be sent along with your shipping kit. This is a great way to ensure you are using appropriate shipping materials when sending your precious materials to us for digitization. Q:

Just to be clear, with this deal, I can have 5 VHS tapes transferred for $29?

Beth B.  asked on  Jun 18, 2013

A:

Hi Beth! We transfer video to DVD at $19.95 per tape, 2 hours or less. Assuming that each tape is within 2 hours, you can have 5 transferred for the $100 value. Q:

Approximately how many VHS tapes can be digitized for $100? How many Super 8 tapes for $100?

Barbara  asked on  Jun 18, 2013

A:

Hi Barbara, We charge $19.95 to transfer a VHS tape of 2 hours or less in length to digital format, so you can have 5 video tapes transferred with the $100 Groupon. We charge $0.28/foot to transfer super 8 reels of film to DVD so you'd be able to transfer about 350 feet of super 8 film for a $100 Groupon. I am not familiar with super 8 tapes, so I am understanding that as super 8 reels of film. Please correct me if I'm wrong. If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact us directly by email (support@scandigital.com) or by phone (888.333.2808).

Q:

I have a number of 8mm videos filmed on a camera that was slightly off speed- they played back fine on that one cmaera, until it broke- now I am left with footage that cannot be played on a regular player- I am hoping it can be converted to digital, but it would require the capability of manipulating the film's speed. many thanks in advance, Susan

susan o.  asked on  Jun 16, 2013

A:

Hi Susan, Thank you for your interest in our services. Our system is setup as a one-to-one transfer process, and if the speed of your footage is fast on the tape, it will be fast on the captured digital output. We can offer to transfer your footage to video file in addition to DVD, allowing you the opportunity to use the video file on your computer for editing. Unfortunately though, our process does not include editing to fix any speed issues. If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact us directly by email (support@scandigital.com) or by phone (888.333.2808).

Q:

I'm confused on pricing. If I have 1000 photos what would the total cost be with shipping if I buy the groupon? If i get one as a gift, can I combine and send 2000 photos at one time? Are they scanned in the order that I send them? TY

Amy K.  asked on  Jun 17, 2013

A:

Hi Amy, Thank you for your interest in our services. On our online order form, we have a bulk pricing option called "My Life, Digital pricing". This is offered to customers who have 1,000+ photos to scan, and provides a $0.10/image discount. For example, if you have 1,000 photos, and you select this bulk pricing, you will pay $380 instead of $480 for 1,000 photo scans. To add to your savings, you may also apply one $100 Groupon to the cost of your bulk project, bringing the amount owed to your credit card down to $280. If you'd like to purchase 2 $100 Groupons and place two separate orders with the My Life, Digital pricing, you can. All of your photos will be scanned in the order that you send them to us, and the physical organization of your materials will be replicated digitally. If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact us directly by email (support@scandigital.com) or by phone (888.333.2808).

Q:

Can they digitize super 8 film and what is the cost?

nona s.  asked on  Jun 17, 2013

A:

Hi Nona, Yes, we are able to digitize super 8 film for $0.28/foot. This premium transfer service will capture and convert your film footage to DVD for use in your DVD player. If you're interested in editing your footage or manipulating it on your computer, I'd recommend our expert transfer option. It is only $0.10 more per foot and will provide you with high quality .AVI files that can be used on your computer for editing purposes. If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact us directly by email (support@scandigital.com) or by phone (888.333.2808).
